Learn Your Baby’s Different Cries
Not every cry means the same thing.
With time, you’ll begin recognizing patterns.
Hunger Cry
Usually rhythmic and repetitive.
Tired Cry
May include rubbing eyes and yawning.
Discomfort Cry
Could indicate:
- Wet diaper
- Dirty diaper
- Clothing irritation
- Temperature discomfort
Overstimulated Cry
Your newborn may need:
- A quieter room
- Dim lighting
- Gentle rocking
- Skin-to-skin contact
Learning these differences takes practice, and that’s completely normal.
